HOW TO OVERCOME ANY CHALLENGE YOU FACE

Image
In this article I’m going to share with all of you a method to overcome any challenge you face in your life. It’s really simple but effective as hell. The method works because I use it every single day of my life and, for now, I have no complaints about it, but rather the opposite; thanks to this method I’ve achieved many goals I had in my life and I hope you will take advantage of it too. Implement this method to your daily routine and you will be able to solve any problem you have. Why is so important to face challenges? First of all, I want to make clear this: challenges are necessary in order to grow as individuals; they are necessary to improve our skills and polish up our talents; to help us to become a successful individual in whatever endeavor we are involved in. And, above all, challenges help us to discover who we really are and what we can do in difficult situations. “Opposition is a natural part of life. Just as we develop our physical muscles through over

5 Steps to Turn Your Passion Into Your Profession

Image
Your frustrations often reveal your passions. So many people say it would be great if they could just quit their day job and pursue their passion full time, to start a business or write a book or launch a blog. But that’s all it is, talk. To those people, I say: Stop talking about it and do something. Turn your passion into your profession. Here’s how. 1. Start. Without getting too much into the psychology of the self-defeating fixed mindset, there is only one way to break this type of thinking: Shut up and act. Do something. Read the top 10 books about the subject. Personally interview a minimum of five people who are already in that industry. Buy the domain name. Write the blog. Put your money (time and energy) where your mouth is. You do not have to quit your day job. In fact you should not quit until your side project generates enough income for you to do so. The bottom line is that you must act if you want to change. You have to choose to do something different. Y

The Choice Is Yours Josh

Sometimes the right decision gets made for you. Almost a year and a half ago, we approached Megyn Kelly and her representatives to gauge her interest in being on the cover of  SUCCESS  sometime in 2016. From the outside looking in, we had a sense that the values which made her a star were pretty closely aligned with those of our readers, and in an election year, we thought she had a chance to shine bright. When the reply came back quickly, we knew how right we were—we had the perfect cover figure, and it was immediately clear how an entire issue would shape up around her. She’ll do it , the email read,  but only if it’s the November issue. There couldn’t be a better time for Kelly and  SUCCESS  to come together than now, smack-dab in the middle of election season, when the country’s big decision is on the mind of voters. Kelly knew what she wanted, and she moved decisively to make it happen. That self-assurance, clear-sightedness and bold action to achieve a goal is the im

Healthy Habits You Already Know but Aren’t Doing

1. Healthy Eating Preparing a healthy, well-balanced meal doesn’t have to be prohibitively time-consuming. Try prepping meals in advance to make cooking quick and easy. For example, chopping up a bunch of vegetables on Sunday night can give you an easy salad mix for Monday and Tuesday. Frozen, pre-made meals can be defrosted during the week. Soups, casseroles and pasta are good candidates for easily frozen and reheated meals. But be careful to avoid unhealthy addictions that supply a quick fix. A short-term, pick-me-up coffee can turn into a full-blown caffeine addiction. There is no nourishment in pizza, coffee or energy drinks alone. That kind of diet is simply not the path of sustainability. Take time to eat well ; it will save time and money in the long run.

Do Your Actions Reflect Your Values

Image
We’ve all been there. I got into some financial difficulties halfway through my career, and for several years I feared I would lose everything I had earned. When I was in the deepest part of the struggle, I had a heartfelt talk with myself and evaluated where I was. I picked up a pencil and a pad of paper and wrote down my assets, which were good health, freedom, family, friendships, reputation, relationships, wisdom, strong work ethic, success, integrity, being a mentor,  being a leader  and enjoying lots of love—the list went on and on. In fact, the only thing I could not put on the list was money.

Being Successful Is a Personal Choice

Image
Success is not a stereotype. Success is not an automobile. It’s not a house. It’s not a plan. It’s not money in the bank. That’s not success.  Success is the continual unfolding of   the design of our life   and pulling it off. That’s what success is.   Being successful   in whatever you want to do that makes sense to you, for you and your family. Take on responsibilities or refuse them, it’s all up to you. We’ve been given the power of choice.

Your Life and Ministry Is A Balancing Act By Chima Iroha Balance in life does not come naturally.  For many of us, our lives are lived in extremes.  Incredible things happen when ministry and life are lived at their fullest. The problem however, is that when one area of our life is lived at an extreme, the others become out of balance.

Spending larger amounts of time in one area causes the other areas of our life to become anemic.  Few vocations understand this more than the ministry.  Our dedication to God and commitment to His church often cause us to have an imbalanced allocation of energy and time resources.   Sadly, our families are too often the benefactors of the lessor of the imbalance. Someone once said, “Time waits for no one!”  How true!

FIND WHAT YOU REALLY LOVE It might not seem like it, but the choices you make now affect the rest of your life. We’ll all be working for a long time; having a job you love is essential to happiness. Think about it, people spend more time at work than anywhere else. Do you want to spend your life bored and indifferent, counting the minutes until the end of the day? Right now is the best time to find your passion. You have the free time and resources at your disposal. Waiting too long to find mine was a huge mistake. I chose an easy employable major. I thought I’d be happy doing anything that paid well. Trust me, this doesn’t work. Unless you fit into a predefined category, you have to investigate many different options to find the right fit. Start looking now and you’ll be much better off. I set myself back a couple years by wasting this opportunity. Now I’m busting my ass to catch up. Follow your whims. Talk with students and professors who share your interests. You’ll meet a thousand dead ends, but finding the right path is priceless. Don’t expect it to find you and don’t think that it doesn’t matter. Don’t Sweat the social circles It might seem like getting into the right frat/sorority and hanging out with the “cool people” is a huge deal, but realize that none of this will matter at all in four short years. The people that are concerned with social circles are insecure. They feel a need to validate themselves with an outside authority. Have the confidence to validate yourself and people will love you for it. At the end of college those circles evaporate and what remains are the lasting friendships you’ve made. Don’t chase coolness at the expense of real relationships. I wasted a couple years being frustrated by my social position when I should have had confidence in myself. Neither studying

RESISTING THE TEMPTATION OF AUTHORITY

RESISTING THE TEMPTATION OF AUTHORITY For many reasons, submitting to authority is extremely attractive. It takes the pressure off. We don’t have to think for ourselves. If any problems arise we don’t have to worry about deciding what to do. We can just do what the leader says and be confident that answer is the final truth. This innate craving for authority is rooted deeply in the human psyche. In Freud’s philosophy, the mind is divided into three segments. The id is our primitive childish side. It causes our spontaneous desires for sex, food, and laziness. When you get an urge to quit working, take a nap, eat junk food, or look at pictures of scantily clad members of the opposite sex, that’s the id at work. The superego is the opposite of the id. When you feel compelled by success and ambition, the superego is exerting its influence. The ego is the moderator between the id and superego. It tries to balance the two and is perpetually torn between extremes. Authority forms a b

What Do You REALLY Want?

Image
What Do You REALLY Want? The statement, “You can do anything you put your mind to,” leads us to believe that all you must do is imagine what you’d like to accomplish, set your mind to the task, and wait for success. To a certain degree this is true. Focused intention combined with action is a powerful fo rce. But the statement is misleading because it fails to mention the difficulty and necessity of focusing your mind on a specific goal. Most of us don’t know what we want. We think we do, but we really don’t. We only know what we don’t want. We don’t want a boring job. We don’t want to be poor. We don’t want to disappoint our loved ones. Knowing specifically what you want is much different than knowing what you don’t want. When you only know what you don’t want, your intentions aren’t focused. Consider this example. Pete doesn’t want to be poor. He’s sick of earning less than his friends, and he’s determined to raise his status. To accomplish this goal, Pete could

OVERCOMING A LOSS OF MOTIVATION

Image
OVERCOMING A LOSS OF MOTIVATION How many times have you started a new activity (such as a personal project or exercise routine) with a burst of enthusiasm, only to feel that initial loss of motivation? This often leads to depression and causes us to give up prematurely. I’ve experienced this letdown dozens of times myself. But fortunately, with a bit of thought and reflection you can turn this negative emotion around.

TOP 5 WAYS TO BUILD A WONDERFUL LIFE

Image
TOP 5 WAYS TO BUILD A WONDERFUL LIFE 1. Live Below Your Means There will always be temptation to forsake the future for immediate gratification. We all want to buy that new piece of technology, treat ourselves to an expensive night on the town, or take out a loan for the flashy car we can’t afford. It might feel great at the time but rash spending eventually will build and hurt a lot later on. Enjoy life’s simple pleasures and save as much as you can. Expensive things don’t create lasting happiness and security. Careful spending will bring you greater leisure and enjoyment in the long run. 2. Put Your Money to Work Saving is great, but to make the most of your money you need to put it to work. Good investments can be the difference between retiring in your 40’s or in your 60’s. A post today at The Simple Dollar really got me thinking. According to Trent’s projections , if a person in their early 20’s invests 20% of their income in an S&P index fund , the intere
