With this searching question, Parker Palmer begins an insightful and moving meditation on finding one's true calling.
Let Your Life Speak is an openhearted gift to anyone who seeks to live authentically. The book's title is a time-honored Quaker admonition, usually taken to mean “Let the highest truths and values guide everything you do.” But Palmer reinterprets those words, drawing on his own search for selfhood. “Before you tell your life what you intend to do with it,” he writes, “listen for what it intends to do with you. Before you tell your life what truths and values you have decided to live up to, let your life tell you what truths you embody, what values you represent.”
Vocation does not come from willfulness, no matter how noble one’s intentions. It comes from listening to and accepting “true self” with its limits as well as its potentials. Sharing stories of frailty and strength, of darkness and light, Palmer shows that vocation is not a goal to be achieved but a gift to be received.

“The insight we receive on the inner journey is that chaos is the precondition to creativity: as every creation myth has it, life itself emerged from the void. Even that which has been created needs to be returned to chaos from time to time so it can be regenerated in more vital form.”

5 Steps to Turn Your Passion Into Your Profession

There is great mandate to change our mindsets and live above the transformation and demands of jobs. There is also a greater mandate to acquire new skill-set required to, not just accommodate the realities of the new age of wisdom but also live true to the real purpose and have no comparison towards living a higher life of purpose, power and plenty. You must own, at least little business of your own. You must belong to the growing generation of young citizens, who are increasingly taking it upon themselves to chart a path for themselves. Life is a stage where you must write your own success script for generations to read. I could do with you knowing that everything great in this life has been accomplished with passion. According to Joss Whedon, “Passion, it lies in all of us, sleeping…waiting…and though unwanted…unbidden…it will stir…open its jaws and how? It speaks to us…guides us…passion rules us all, and we obey. What other choice do we have? Passion is the source of our finest moments. The joy of love…the clarity of hatred…and the ecstasy of grief. It hurts sometimes more than we can bear. If we could live without passion, may be we’d know some kind of peace…but we could be hollow…Empty rooms shuttered and dank. Without passion we’d be truly dead.” Passion gives birth to drive; there is no life without passion! Life is beyond the depth of ordinary; understand the purpose of life and live with the purpose - it is all about passion. You must have an unlimited enthusiasm and do things to a good purpose. The standard has gone beyond having special talents but being single-mindedly curious about living your passion. Life is too big to settle for lesser things! And when you do not have passion in life, you will surely give up especially when you face the storm of life. But the British statesman, Winston Churchill, says, “Never, never, never give up.” Have passion for life and perfect your excellence. It makes all things alive and significant. T. Alan Armstrong puts it this way, “If there is no passion in your life, then have you really lived? Find your passion, whatever it may be. Become it, and let it become you and you will find great things happen for you, you and because of you.” This is incredible! You can read it again. What are you living for? What is your passion for life? Stop seeing things the way they are; start seeing things the way they can be. No matter the intensity of your effective imagination, you must see the strong-city of your choice imagination. Liven your live, you have what it takes; you have got it.
